Prague City Tour with Vltava River Cruise

The complete Prague sampler in 4 hours: Old Town Square with the Astronomical Clock, the legendary Charles Bridge, the vast grounds of Prague Castle, and a 1-hour Vltava river cruise that lets you see the city from the water — the way Prague's medieval merchants and boatmen saw it for centuries. All led by a live licensed guide with real-time translation into your language via a personal receiver.

Why book this tour

  • Two experiences in one — walking tour + Vltava river cruise, discounted vs booking separately.
  • Live licensed guide with real-time translation into 8 languages (EN, DE, ES, FR, IT, PT, RU, UK).
  • Rest your feet on the boat — a comfortable 1-hour break in the middle of the day.
  • Best photo angles — Charles Bridge and Prague Castle look completely different from the river.
  • Central meeting point at Wenceslas Square.

River cruise ticket is included. Entry fees to Prague Castle interiors (St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Royal Palace, Basilica of St. George) are not included — paid separately on site or added as a booking option to skip the queue.

What you'll see

  • Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) — Astronomical Clock, Church of Our Lady before Týn, Old Town Hall, merchant palaces.
  • Jewish Quarter (Josefov) — exterior walk.
  • Charles Bridge (Karlův most) — the 14th-century Gothic bridge with its 30 baroque statues.
  • Lesser Town (Malá Strana) and the walk up to the castle.
  • Prague Castle (Pražský hrad) — the largest ancient castle in the world by area. Exterior visit of St. Vitus Cathedral, Old Royal Palace, Golden Lane, Basilica of St. George.
  • Vltava River Cruise (1 hour) — under Charles Bridge, along Kampa Island, past the National Theatre and the Dancing House, with panoramic views of Prague Castle from the water.

Programme

  • 11:00 — meeting point at Wenceslas Square, next to the statue of St. Wenceslas on horseback (Václavské náměstí, socha sv. Václava). Look for a person with a MegaTour sign.
  • 11:00 – 12:00 — Old Town Square, Josefov exterior walk, Charles Bridge.
  • 12:00 – 13:00 — ascent through Malá Strana to Prague Castle.
  • 13:00 – 14:00 — Prague Castle grounds with live commentary.
  • 14:00 – 14:30 — descent to the Vltava embankment.
  • 14:30 – 15:30 — 1-hour Vltava river cruise with live commentary and views of Charles Bridge, Kampa Island and Prague Castle from the water.
  • Approx. 15:30 — end of tour at the central boat pier.

Frequently asked questions

Is the cruise ticket included in the €55 price?

Yes. The 1-hour Vltava cruise ticket is included. Entry tickets to Prague Castle interiors are separate and paid on site (or added as a paid option at booking).

What kind of boat is it?

A comfortable enclosed cruise boat with an open upper deck, licensed by Prague river authorities. Restrooms, indoor seating, and a bar are available on board.

Is food included on the cruise?

No. This is a scenic cruise with live commentary, not a lunch cruise. Drinks and light snacks are available for purchase from the boat's bar. Have lunch before or after the tour.

What language does the guide speak?

The guide speaks Ukrainian live throughout the walking section and provides commentary during the cruise. Other languages are delivered in real time via personal receiver (WAT01-NG2): English, German, Spanish, French, Italian, Portuguese, Russian.

Is the tour suitable for children?

Yes. Children under 12 pay €45. Kids usually enjoy the cruise most — the boat, the views, and a break from walking.

What if it rains during the cruise?

The boat has fully enclosed indoor decks with panoramic windows. The cruise runs in all weather. Bring an umbrella for the walking portion.

How much walking is involved before the cruise?

Approximately 4 km over 3 hours including the uphill walk to Prague Castle. Then 1 hour of rest on the boat.

Where does the tour end?

At the boat dock in the city centre (Čechův most / Rašínovo nábřeží area). Walking distance to most central Prague hotels.

Can I combine this with the Jewish Quarter tour on the same day?

The timing is tight but possible. This tour ends at approximately 15:30 at the central boat pier, and our Jewish Quarter tour starts at 15:00. If you want both on the same day, we recommend the standalone Prague City Tour (ending 14:30) instead of the cruise version. Ask us at booking for the best combined itinerary.

Meeting point: Wenceslas Square, at the Saint Wenceslas Statue (Václavské náměstí, Statue of St. Wenceslas). Please look for a representative holding a MegaTour sign.

Excellent tour for a first visit to Prague! We learned a lot about the city, saw many beautiful places and then enjoyed a relaxing cruise on the Vltava. Seeing Prague Castle and Charles Bridge from the water was especially beautiful. Thank you MegaTour!

A wonderful way to discover Prague! The walking tour was very interesting and covered the most important sights, including the Old Town, Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. The one-hour river cruise was a perfect and relaxing ending to the tour. Highly recommended!
